What is the pixels-to-inches formula?

Divide the pixel dimension by the selected PPI. A 3000-pixel edge at 300 PPI prints 10 inches long.

Should I use 150, 240 or 300 PPI?

Use the requirement supplied by the printer. 300 PPI is a common target for detailed work viewed closely; lower targets may suit larger prints viewed farther away.

Does the calculation resize my image?

No. It divides the existing pixel dimensions by a target PPI. It does not add pixels, resample the file or change image quality.
