How the batch decision works

Same math as a single job, repeated consistently.

Read real pixels

Each selected file is decoded locally to get its actual raster width and height. File size in megabytes and stored DPI tags are not used as a substitute for pixel dimensions.

Resolve orientation

Auto mode evaluates both target orientations for each image and uses the stronger placement. Fixed mode keeps the target exactly as entered.

Crop before PPI

Fill mode calculates the ratio crop first and then divides the remaining usable pixels by the printed inches. Fit mode keeps the full source and measures the fitted image footprint.

Choose a safer size

The board calculates a same-ratio safe footprint at the selected target, compares standard sizes per image, and looks for the largest listed size the full batch can share before you inspect critical files in Studio.
