Gripper and marks
Presses and finishing workflows may reserve asymmetric areas. Use the actual usable-sheet dimensions when available.
Enter the parent sheet, finished piece, bleed, gap and usable margins. Compare normal and rotated layouts, estimate sheets required for a quantity, and see how much of the sheet is actually occupied.
This is a rectangular grid planner, not a replacement for a printer’s imposition/RIP. Irregular nesting, gutters, gripper requirements and finishing can change the real production layout.

Bleed belongs to the piece footprint. Extra gutter space can still be needed for cutting, creasing or finishing.
This planner compares uniform normal and uniform 90° rotation. It does not solve arbitrary mixed-orientation nesting.
Labels, packaging and contour-cut work can need dedicated nesting software rather than a rectangular N-up grid.
